Domain Administration at DENICdirect
Your .de domain. Your data. Your control.
Here you can manage all administrative aspects of your .de domains that are registered directly with DENICdirect. Update your contact details, prepare for a provider change (to us or to another provider) or initiate the deletion of domains.
All the necessary information and forms for these actions can be found here in one central location.
How updates, provider changes, and deletion work
As the domain holder, you are responsible for ensuring that your domain data is always correct. Please notify us if your domain data changes.
- To do so, please fill out the update form provided by us in full.
- Please note that for your security, we can only accept updates to domain data in writing and with a legally valid signature from an authorized signatory (holder or legal representative).
You can find help on our information page. Please also note the DENIC domain guidelines for your update request.
Your .de domain is managed by a provider
If your domain is managed by a provider, please contact your provider. They will be happy to process your changes.
You have decided to have your domain managed by a provider in the future and no longer by DENICdirect. DENIC offers the password-protected AuthInfo procedure for this purpose.
- You register a provider change password (AuthInfo) with DENICdirect. A form for registering an AuthInfo is available for this purpose, which must be signed by the domain owner or their legal representative in a legally binding manner.
- Provide the AuthInfo to your new provider and request a provider change.
- The new provider submits a provider change request to DENIC using the AuthInfo.
- If the AuthInfo matches the one stored at DENIC, your domain will be transferred to the new provider immediately.
You have decided to transfer your domain from your provider to DENICdirect? DENIC offers the password-protected AuthInfo procedure for this purpose. Help and explanations regarding the information required for a provider transfer can be found on a separate information page. When completing your order, please also note the DENIC domain guidelines.
Please note that domain administration via DENICdirect does not include any additional Internet services. This means that web space, e-mail addresses and name services are not included. Such Internet services go beyond pure domain administration and are provided by specialised providers. We therefore recommend that you register your domain via one of our members.
This is how a provider transfer works with AuthInfo:
- Contact your existing provider to set a provider change password (AuthInfo).
- The provider stores this password in encrypted form with DENIC. Please note: The password is valid for a maximum of 30 days.
- Then fill out the provider change form, which must be signed by the domain owner or their legal representative in a legally binding manner.
Please provide us with the AuthInfo password on the last page of the form. The domain can only be transferred to DENICdirect if the password matches the one on file. - Once your order has been successfully processed, you will receive an invoice from us for the transfer of domain administration to DENICdirect, including domain administration by DENICdirect and connection for one year, in accordance with the current DENIC price list.
Your domain is managed by our DENICdirect service
You can only delete your domain through us if it is managed by our DENICdirect service. To do so, please fill out the deletion form completely. Please note that for your security, we can only accept deletion requests in writing and with a legally valid signature from an authorized signatory (owner or legal representative). Once we have received your written deletion request, it will be processed immediately.
Grace period for deleted domains
All .de domains are subject to a grace period that protects domain owners from the unwanted loss of their domain due to accidental deletion. During the 30-day redemption grace period (RGP), a previously deleted domain can only be re-registered on behalf of its former domain owner.
Your .de domain is managed by a provider
If your domain to be deleted is managed by one of our members, please contact your provider. They will be happy to process your deletion request.
